Whosoever feels fit and open for this function takes a badge or symbol at the start of the day to indicate that the wearer is an empathiser.

The function "Empathiser of the day" is already well known at International Intensive Trainings of the Center for Nonviolent Communication (CNVC). Whosoever feels fit and open for this function takes a badge or symbol at the start of the day to indicate that the wearer is an empathiser. This makes is easy for others to find a counterpart with whom they can discuss their concerns. At the end of the day when the evening round takes place the badge/button is returned to the centre and on the next day another participant will surely be delighted to take on this function. This heart-shaped badge/button with a butterfly fastening has a diameter of 4cm and depicts a heart of the Heide artist, Gerhard Wegner.
